The 2019 MLS season kicked off as the league released the regular season schedule, with the Los Angeles Football Club opening the season at home, hosting Sporting KC on March 3, 2019, and finishing the season also at home, hosting the Colorado Rapids on October 6. 2019.

March 3 vs Sporting KC
The inaugural season for the Los Angeles Football Club saw them start off the 2018 season with six matches on the road so a match at home to start the 2019 season will be a welcome experience. While many home openers make the list simply for being the first match at home, this one has history. Sporting KC were the only team to take all three points from the Banc of California Stadium last season, a fact fans and players alike have not forgotten. There will be no feeling out process here; expect fireworks early from both sides.
March 23 vs Real Salt Lake
There are several “revenge” matches on the schedule for LAFC, this match being right at the top. During the regular season LAFC handled RSL with ease, defeating them by a combing 7-1 scoreline over the two matches, so it was a pretty massive shock when RSL not only upset LAFC in the knockout round of the playoffs 3-2, but did so with only two shots on target. While most likely not the most exciting of matches, this match early in the season will be personal to LAFC.
JULY 27 vs Atlanta United FC
Make no mistake, there is a rivalry brewing here. Atlanta won MLS Cup in 2018, in just their second year in the league. They have also served as a blueprint of sorts to what LAFC aspire to become. After a 5-0 drubbing at the hands of Atlanta last season, LAFC will be looking to return the favor.
JULY 19 at LA Galaxy
August 25 vs LA Galaxy
The derby. Both matches will be can’t miss spectacles for faithful and casual fan alike. Last season’s first visit to Carson, CA saw LAFC jump out to 3-0 lead. Only for their lead to evaporate and a newly acquired Zlatan Ibrahimovic to put in the last two for a 4-3 Galaxy win. The following two matches ended in draws, leaving the Galaxy undefeated in this LA Derby. There will be stars, there will physical play, there will be goals, and there will be Zlatan. What else is there to say?
