Podcast (November 15, 2018) – Hello Rapids Fans! This week on Holding The High Line with Rabbi and Red, we spend way too much time talking about this non-playoff team. Mark and Matt do a full positional review (with grades) for the entire current Colorado Rapids roster. Spoiler alert: The defense and offense aren’t valedictorians.

We then take a deep dive into the 2018 MLS Expansion Draft. The guys break down the rules for the draft, the Rapids roster, and who they could protect from FC Cincinnati. We banter about who could get picked in the draft, what it would mean, and why it probably doesn’t matter.

Matt Pollard is the Managing Editor of Last Word on Soccer and an engineer by day. A Colorado Convert, he started covering the Colorado Rapids as a credentialed member of the press in 2016, though he’s watched MLS since ’96. When he’s not watching or writing about soccer, he’s being an outdoorsman (mostly skiing and hiking) in this beautiful state or trying a new beer. For some reason, he thought that starting a podcast with Mark was a good idea and he can’t figure out how to stop this madness. He also hosts Last Word SC Radio.

Mark Goodman, the artist formally known as Rapids Rabbi, moved to Colorado in 2011. Shortly thereafter he went to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, saw Lee Nguyen dribble a ball with the silky smoothness of liquid chocolate cascading into a Bar Mitzvah fountain, and promptly fell head over heels in love with domestic soccer. When not watching MLS or coaching U8 soccer, he’s generally studying either Talmud or medieval biblical exegesis. Which explains why he watches so much MLS, probably. He writes about the Rapids for Around MLS and covers the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the USL for Last Word on Soccer. He also writes for American Soccer Analysis.
