Podcast (October 12, 2018) – Hello Rapids Fans! Today on Holding The High Line, Rabbi is a player-coach with the Sandwich Dragons and Red is in Butt-Nowhere Wyoming for work, and the Rapids lost again. What else is new? We recap the patented loss script that was the Los Angeles FC game. Then we look at Minnesota United FC. Oh, and we get into the weeds on Jewish Weddings and Rabbi wedding execution to try and make this somewhat fun.
Holding The High Line: Combining Minnesota United FC and the Rapids
The guys recap how bad the loss to LAFC was and why it was all too familiar. Spoiler alert, we don’t see how this gets better anytime soon.
Matt gives his 2018 Wooden Spoon race update. None of the three teams got points this past weekend, so the Rapids magic number sits at two. Mark your calendars for next weekend.
The guys then preview the game against Minnesota United FC, what to look for, and what a combined Loons-Pids Starting XI would look like.

Matt Pollard is the Managing Editor of Last Word on Soccer and an engineer by day. A Colorado Convert, he started covering the Colorado Rapids as a credentialed member of the press in 2016, though he’s watched MLS since ’96. When he’s not watching or writing about soccer, he’s being an outdoorsman (mostly skiing and hiking) in this beautiful state or trying a new beer. For some reason, he thought that starting a podcast with Mark was a good idea and he can’t figure out how to stop this madness. He also hosts Last Word SC Radio.
Mark Goodman, the artist formally known as Rapids Rabbi, moved to Colorado in 2011. Shortly thereafter he went to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, saw Lee Nguyen dribble a ball with the silky smoothness of liquid chocolate cascading into a Bar Mitzvah fountain, and promptly fell head over heels in love with domestic soccer. When not watching MLS or coaching U8 soccer, he’s generally studying either Talmud or medieval biblical exegesis. Which explains why he watches so much MLS, probably. He writes about the Rapids for Around MLS and covers the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the USL for Last Word on Soccer. He also writes for American Soccer Analysis.
