Podcast (June 20, 2018) – Hello Rapids Comrades! Today on HTHL, Rabbi and Red have World Cup fever. We open up talking about the opening week of the tournament in Russia and some of the ‘inside soccer’ aspects to a World Cup. We then recap the Colorado Rapids finally getting a result in their 2-2 draw against Chicago Fire. We do Good Thing, Bad Thing, Big Thing on the match. The guys then look ahead to Minnesota United FC, breaking down their roster, the current run of form the Loons are on, and their issues at the back.
Holding The High Line: Colorado Rapids Boca Juniors friendly analysis
Mark and Matt then discuss the news that the Rapids will be hosting Boca Juniors next month in a friendly. We talk about the pros and cons to these types of games and what it could mean for the Pids in the month of July. The guys finish off with #AskHTHL that takes us down yet another hypothetical and ridiculous rabbit hole.
Holding The High Line with Rabbi and Red is an independent soccer podcast centered around the Colorado Rapids of Major League Soccer. The show aims to provide objective analysis-based coverage and commentary of the Pids and have some fun while doing so. We publish weekly, usually on Wednesday or Thursday.

Matt Pollard is the Managing Editor of Last Word on Soccer and an engineer by day. A Colorado Convert, he started covering the Colorado Rapids as a credentialed member of the press in 2016, though he’s watched MLS since it started. When he’s not watching or writing about soccer, he’s being an outdoorsman (mostly skiing and hiking) in this beautiful state or trying a new beer. For some reason, he thought that starting a podcast with Mark was a good idea and he can’t figure out how to stop this madness. He also hosts Last Word SC Radio. Mark Goodman, aka the Rapids Rabbi, moved to Colorado in 2011. Shortly thereafter he went to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, saw Lee Nguyen dribble a ball with the silky smoothness of liquid chocolate cascading into a Bar Mitzvah fountain, and promptly fell head over heels in love with domestic soccer. When not watching MLS or coaching U8 soccer, he’s generally studying either Talmud or medieval biblical exegesis. Which explains why he watches so much MLS, probably. He writes about the Rapids for Around MLS and covers the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the USL for Last Word on Soccer. He also writes for American Soccer Analysis. Follow him on Twitter @rapidsrabbi.
