Podcast – Hello Rapids Fans! Today, Rabbi and Red are back to talk about a bunch of stuff. Our banter starts off with Mark ranting about the go90.com streams for CCL that were terrible. Matt takes down a soccer internet wormhole that ends on the Wikipedia page of Grimsby Town FC. We talk about the disappointing draw over the weekend against FC Dallas. The guys talk about the good offensive stuff, parking the bus in the final 20 minutes, and poor defending late in games.
Holding The High Line Episode 11: Colorado Rapids Host Toronto FC
We then move onto previewing the home game on Saturday as Colorado Rapids host Toronto FC. The guys talk about how Toronto’s midweek CCL victory will impact their game on Saturday and how the Rapids should be more ready for this game than previous ones.
The guys move on to full segments of ‘From Field 20’ and ‘Ask HTHL’ to finish up the podcast.
As a reminder, Mark and Matt will be having HTHL Office/Happy Hour on Saturday at the C38 Tailgate from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM MST. We’ll keep you posted via Twitter on where specifically we’ll be. Feel free to come say hi, talk about the Rapids, or yell at our faces. Requests for selfies and autographs are welcome if desired.
Holding The High Line with Rabbi and Red is a soccer podcast centered around the Colorado Rapids of Major League Soccer. The show aims to provide analysis based coverage and commentary of the Pids and have some fun while doing so. We record weekly-ish.
Matt Pollard is the Managing Editor of Last Word on Soccer and engineer by day. A Colorado Convert, he started covering the Colorado Rapids as a credentialed member of the press in 2016, though he’s watched MLS since it started. When he’s not watching or writing about soccer, he’s being an outdoorsman (mostly skiing and hiking) in this beautiful state, trying a new beer, or traveling for work. For some reason, he thought that starting a podcast with Mark was a good idea and he can’t figure out how to stop this madness. He also hosts Last Word SC Radio. Mark Goodman, aka the Rapids Rabbi, moved to Colorado in 2011. Shortly thereafter he went to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, saw Lee Nguyen dribble a ball with the silky smoothness of liquid chocolate cascading into a Bar Mitzvah fountain, and promptly fell head over heels in love with domestic soccer. When not watching MLS or coaching U8 soccer, he’s generally studying either Talmud or medieval biblical exegesis. Which explains why he watches so much MLS, probably. He writes about the Rapids for Around MLS and covers the Pittsburgh Riverhounds of the USL for Last Word on Soccer. He also writes for American Soccer Analysis. Follow him on Twitter @rapidsrabbi.
