CARSON, Cali. (February 12, 2018) – The LA Galaxy announced today that all proceeds from their February 15th friendly match in Santa Barbara, CA will be donated to United Way of Santa Barbara County in Support of Thomas Fire & Flood Fund. This is in response to the Thomas Fire and Mudslide. The club will also host first responders and those affected by the fire and mudslide in addition to the LA Galaxy donate to the fund.
LA Galaxy to Donate Feb. 15 Match Against Fresno FC Proceeds to United Way of Santa Barbara County in Support of Thomas Fire & Flood Fund
The Galaxy are set to take on Fresno FC, a 2018 USL expansion side, on Thursday, Feb. 15 at 7:30 p.m. PT at Harder Stadium in Santa Barbara, California as part of their 2018 preseason. The Galaxy will also be hosting first responders at the match on Thursday.
“This is an extremely important cause for something that affected so many people in Santa Barbara County. Playing in this area on Feb. 15, we wanted to ensure a way to support these relief efforts and honor those who have been affected by these tragedies. We are thrilled to meet these brave men and women in Santa Barbara,” said LA Galaxy President Chris Klein.
Per the club: “Tickets to the friendly are available online at www.X-Oversoccer.com or in person at various outlets in the Santa Barbara area. Pricing starts at $10 for youth and $15 for adult general admission. Ticket prices increase on match day to $15 and $20, respectively. The evening will also feature a preliminary match between the UCSB Gauchos Men’s soccer program and the Ventura County Fusion of the Player Development League (PDL) with a kick-off time of 5 p.m. PT.”
The Galaxy open their 2018 MLS Regular Season on Sunday, March 4th against Portland Timbers FC at 7:00 PM PST. They will play one final preseason game against Vancouver Whitecaps FC on February 24th at the StubHub Center.
