COMMERCE CITY, COLORADO (January 12, 2018) – The Colorado Rapids preseason schedule for 2018 was released this week. Players will report to training on Monday January 22, 2018. They will spend a considerable amount of time in the state of Arizona training and playing preseason friendlies. Their season kicks off on February 20 against Toronto FC in the 2018 CONCACAF Champions League.

The Colorado Rapids 2018 preseason, per the club, is as follows:
Monday, Jan. 22 Players report to DICK’S Sporting Goods Park
Tuesday, Jan. 23 Medicals and training at DICK’S Sporting Goods Park First Media Availability
Wednesday, Jan. 24 Team travels to Casa Grande
Tuesday, Jan. 30 Scrimmage vs Columbus Crew SC (Casa Grande, AZ)
Saturday, Feb. 3 Scrimmage vs Sporting KC (Scottsdale, AZ)
Saturday, Feb. 3 Team returns to Denver
Wednesday, Feb. 7 Team travels to Tucson
Friday, Feb. 9 Scrimmage vs Sporting Arizona (Tucson, AZ)
Wednesday, Feb. 14 Scrimmage vs Phoenix Rising FC (Scottsdale, AZ)
Saturday, Feb. 17 Team returns to Denver
The Rapids will have four preseason scrimmages, including two against MLS teams that made the playoffs in 2017. They’ll be spending less than half the preseason at altitude in Denver, CO. Their first trip of the camp will be to Casa Grande, where they’ll play Columbus Crew SC and Sporting KC (in Scottsdale). They will then return to Colorado for about a half week.
The team will then travel back to Arizona and be based out of Tucson for just over a week. They will scrimmage against local sides Sporting Arizona FC of the United Premier Soccer League and Phoenix Rising FC of the United Soccer League. They will then return home on Saturday, February 17.
Five days later, they’ll open with a competitive match. On the 22nd they will host Toronto FC in the 2018 CONCACAF Champions League. The following week will bring the second leg of that two leg series. The Colorado Rapids open their 2018 MLS regular season at New England Revolution on March 10.
