Boston Breakers vs. Western New York Flash Preview

The Western New York Flash champagne football has let them wasted. A Flash loss and a Seattle win will have Western New York out of the NWSL playoffs. They play a confident Boston team who when the Flash last played them the Breakers gave up two leads.

Julie King, a consistent starter on a patchwork Boston squad, is out on yellow card accumulation. The Boston Breakers can use any excuse to explain a terrible season. They don’t, like the fishermen fighting the ongoing waves to make their catch, Boston is resilient.

Western New York have no problems scoring, it’s collecting three points. The Flash had amassed four points in five games according to . The Seattle Reign, who is two points below, gathered seven points in their last five.

Abby Erceg has been converted from a defender to a holding midfielder to slow the leaky defense. The Flash diamond formation allows Samantha Mewis and Lianne Sanderson to be more attack minded. Jessica McDonald, though tall, drifts outside to cross.

The Breakers makeshift line-up played in their defensive third in the first half in their last meeting. They were on the defensive against the at times overwhelming Western New York attack in the second half of the contest. Between scrambling to make forward passes and desperate defending Boston were able to attack swiftly to score a couple of goals.

The Boston fans were almost blessed will profound victory from a dreadful season. The Breakers can still topple the Flash playoff dreams. Western New York  may have to put the champagne on ice and play steady defensive football. The Breakers season was awful, but due to their last match, hoping to win has turn in an expectation.
